I feel the same way about mine. Yours and everyone's are so good. Maybe we should make a self-published short story collection at the end of the year. I love the different takes people had on the prompt!

I just posted mine. It's all in fun. What I'm most excited about is the challenge to myself to write at least one short story per month. I have a lot of ideas but I work best when I have deadlines. I look forward to reading everyone's' stories! 🙂

Where do we post our story? I thought I saw one of them but now I can't find it. (Edit: I just found the location in FILES). I'll post mine over the weekend. 🙂

book review Review The Curse of The Mistwraith by Janny Wurts
Layla Azmi Goushey replied to Anconab's topic in Janny Wurts
I can't wait to read this book! Thanks for the review @Anconab! -
From a teaching and learning perspective, the more we read the better we can write because we gain vocabulary and can start to understand ways of structuring what we want to say. We also gain more background knowledge this way depending on what we read. However, everyone is different and I think writing and seeking feedback is another way to improve our writing. As I think about how all stories used to be passed down orally, those stories improved in the telling (as they say) because the storyteller paid attention to what excites an audience. In the end, I think there are many ways to create a good story. My preferred method is reading and writing.🙂

@Steve I forgot to tag you the first time. Is this time correct? I have 1:00 a.m. Central time... -

I’m not much of a traditionalist so I don’t overfocus on holidays. I’ve found that the best and most memorable moments happen unexpectedly and the holidays can be so commercialized that one can feel pressure to celebrate. I do enjoy the solstice and for me that is the true turning point of the winter. This is a time for reflection though and I think the combination of days off and the end of the calendar year (tax year 🙂) help reinforce the sense of a fresh start. I finalized my divorce of my 25-year marriage a couple of weeks ago on 12/21. This year it truly is a fresh start. It’s all good.

The time says 1:00 a.m. central. Is this a typo?
