Steve 3,863 Posted April 30 I'm about halfway through The True Bastards. While I'm enjoying it I'm not sure if there's a whole lot to discuss on stream with this series. It's more lighthearted (not in regards to violence) in terms of story and themes. Some books you really want to discuss because there's so much there, but I'm not sure if this is one of them. Thoughts? Agreed. I took a break after our 50 pages. But to be fair, I've been in a slump
Crystal Rhew Staley 62 Posted May 25 Sorry I haven’t been chatting! I did finish the first two books and overall liked them. I really liked True Bastards and the things we learned in the story. I agree there’s not necessarily much to dig into for a discussion. It’s more of a fun story, even though there are some heavier themes and the violence is there….hopefully I’m making sense. Hoping to dig into the third book soon. The recent events have me a bit all over the place so not feeling like reading right now. Maybe over the weekend? 1 Steve reacted to this

There are heavy themes but overall the story seems a little silly. It's a tough balance to pull off 1 Crystal Rhew Staley reacted to this Quote Steve IRL ► Personal Links: YouTube (booktube) ● OTBSteve YouTube (MTB and cycling) ● Strava ● Last.fm ● GoodReads ● Vero ◄
