Favorite Prologue?

What is your favorite prologue?

I think my favorite would be Deadhouse Gates by Steven Erikson or Hall of Bones by Tim Hardie.

Bonus question: what are your thoughts on prologues in general?

I don't really think about prologues that much, I just keep on reading whether it's good or bad.

Mostly I concentrate on overall story, that's how I am able to keep on reading instead of this doesn't hook me...next book (the DNF trick).

If I have to select a prologue I loved, it's going to be the Lord of the Rings one with Gollum and the nature of Hobbits 😊.
