Steve 6,666 Posted September 8, 2022 Cause I don't have enough to read already, picked up the first volume of Berserk on sale at a local comic shop. Anyone up for a group read starting in a couple of months with livestreams? 2 chibipoe and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this Quote Steve IRL ► Personal Links: YouTube (booktube) ● OTBSteve YouTube (MTB and cycling) ● Strava ● Last.fm ● GoodReads ● Vero ◄

Drew 658 Posted December 7, 2022 I have never read any manga but eventually I think I’d like to give it a shot. From what I’ve heard I don’t think Beserk would be what I try first, I think it would just be too dark and not really what I’m looking for out of a medium like that. But I’ve heard it’s fantastic, so I hope you enjoy it. Also hesitant to get into manga bc it can get really expensive from what I’ve heard 2 Steve and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this
chrisM 394 Posted December 7, 2022 I've read the first couple of volumes this year. It's interesting without having really grabbed me so far but I'll definitely keep it in mind. 2 Steve and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this
Steve 6,666 Posted December 7, 2022 That’s a bummer but totally understand! If I can’t find anyone to read with me I’ll have to venture out alone 1 Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this Quote Steve IRL ► Personal Links: YouTube (booktube) ● OTBSteve YouTube (MTB and cycling) ● Strava ● Last.fm ● GoodReads ● Vero ◄

Varsha 257 Posted December 31, 2022 I've been wanting to read Berserk, but have felt somewhat intimidated by it, so maybe reading it together will help! I'd love to read along with you Steve. How many volumes are you thinking for January ? (Also volume as in individual volumes, or omnibus edition volumes?) 2 Paromita Mukherjee and Steve reacted to this Quote ► ● Booktube ● Goodreads ● Twitter ● Email

I would like to start slow since I keep hearing about how dark it is, and would like to figure out a pacing that works. chibipoe 128 Posted January 1 I've read it a while ago but I received the first volume of the deluxe editions for the holiday, so a re-read is in order soon, I think. I have it and Vagabond now to look forward to. 3 Paromita Mukherjee, Steve and Varsha reacted to this

chrisM 394 Posted January 1 About 200 pages seems right. They don't take that long to read and you'll find yourself burning through them much quicker than a graphic novel. 3 Paromita Mukherjee, Steve and Varsha reacted to this

dnfire17 29 Posted January 3 Berserk is one of my top manga reads. I've read it 3 times before but it's been a long time since my last read and I've definitely never done it continuously enough to be able to well compare the different periods and arcs of the story from both an art and narrative prospective. I think it would be really fun to re-read it and discuss it. 2 Steve and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this
