Drew 659 Posted October 18, 2022 I enjoy cooking and baking quite a bit and thought a food and drink section in the Pub was appropriate. I’ve only made bread a couple of times before, an Indian naan bread, and an Irish soda bread. Today I made a rustic bread and it turned out pretty well. Eventually I want to try sourdough 7 A_FROG_IN_TIME, Steve, Jeremiah and 4 others reacted to this
Steve 7,540 Posted October 19, 2022 As someone who rarely eats carbs, damn that looks good. Oh man I love carbs, but I understand you have to eat what works for you. This was my third time making bread. Made a couple different breads in the beginning of the year is all. I bake quite a bit. But I’ve never gotten into bread bc the proofing time often required always turns me away. Slowly but surely I will make more bread. Cakes, cookies, and pies are the kinds of things I bake most. 2 Steve and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this
Thomas 415 Posted October 19, 2022 That does look damn good. I'm saying that as someone that just ate way too much bread as a late night snack, haha. I've done very little baking, though I'd like to get more into it. But I've always loved cooking. 2 Drew and Steve reacted to this

The problem is if I even am in the vicinity of carbs I gain weight. 😄 What kind of pies do you enjoy making? 2 Drew and Abaddon reacted to this Quote Steve IRL ► Personal Links: YouTube (booktube) ● OTBSteve YouTube (MTB and cycling) ● Strava ● Last.fm ● GoodReads ● Vero ◄

In early summer I make a lot of strawberry pies. I think I made 8 this year within a 2 week period. And we didn’t eat them all, they got shared with family and friends. This time of year I like pumpkin pie and also I’ve been making what’s called an apple pandowdy. It’s an old fashioned apple pie made in a skillet basically and it’s delicious

Oh jeez sorry Jose for the insensitivity! I can relate to your pain. I was gluten free for a year after I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and it was a difficult transition to make for me. Hope you are doing well! 1 Steve reacted to this

Bread looks awesome. Rub some tomato on a slice of it, olive oil and Serrano ham, you got the best sandwich in the world. 2 Steve and Drew reacted to this
