today going to visit my dad at his care home and making reading and workout plans (more brainstorming for concrete plans and goals) for 2023 plus listening to Kings of Heaven and  reading Mirror's Truth (I'd never listen to this one)

tomorrow - chill, packing/driving to a clients office for work Mo-We. i love to drive there - now that it will be snowing it will be chaos but with an audio all is relative. 😊

That is a busy weekend. I'm excited to hear what you think of both Kings of Heaven and Mirror's Truth!

I’ve got a day in bed planned as I’m still under the weather but that just means movies and books all day! 
Everyone has such beautiful ways to spend their time in the cold. Its a bit inspiring. I hope everyone’s weekend continues to be great.

its quite a lot actually .. there is always new content to explore and they released new maps this year as well. new map, new story - it is quite populated

@Steve I think so, I'm trying to find the website but ofcourse I keep failing, but it was in Cambridge en of April if I'm not mistaken! (But chances that I get accepted are very slim  )

Feeling a little worse today, but trying to relax and take it slow before the streams this weekend. Bummer because the weather isn’t all that bad this week.

Today have the Aspect-Emperor podcast with @drpuffnstuffand @Katerina then tonight the Friday Conversation. Tomorrow the spoiler discussion for Trials of Ashmount and Sunday hopefully lots of nothing but relaxing for a hopefully illness free Monday.

I have a lot of reading planned over the weekend. I want to try few chapters from a book by every author I have committed to reading as part of a buddy read or readalong in 2023, just to make sure the writing style works for me. I'm almost done but have two more books left to go. I want to retry a non-SFF book I DNF'd by Orhan Pamuk. 

Also plan to tune in to few livestreams on Booktube.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Steve! I have to go out tomorrow and (shudder) socialise. Meeting up with some old work friends. Otherwise I'm hoping to get some editing/writing done on a new project and read some more of PL Stuart's next book, which I've been lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of.

I finally made the decision to order a nintendo switch (after facing the truth, a gaming pc is way too expensive for the amount I play and also the type of games I enjoy) and it arrives on Monday! So I've been watching a lot of YouTube-game-people talk about the switch haha

This evening I have a liveshow on Joana Sousas channel, just a chat with her and Johanna, and tomorrow I have a housewarming + filming and editing a video for tomorrow evening.  Oh, and I hope to finish my current read!

I used to use a Switch a lot when I worked nights. Would play games in the morning to unwind before I had to go back to sleep. There's some fun games on it and it's amazing what they can create to play games that good.

Last weekend I got the crazies and hopped last minute on a plane to Stockholm to go and look at houses in Sweden. 

Bought one yesterday and now I'm flying back to Belgium. So this weekend will be fun explaining to the family we started our new adventure 😊.

(PS to Jolien or others: I can recommend a lot of games on the Switch if needed/wanted)

I am going to finish fist draft on my writers battle short. Add some more to The Destroyer and do a little tinkering based on feedback to the Healer. 

Trying to improve character building in the second half as I focussed more on action in the first few drafts.
I may try and dig out one of my guitars and have a bash. I know they are in the spare room somewhere...

That's great to hear. If you are enjoying the beginning, it only gets better in my opinion. I am thinking of trying Shadowmarch but those are some chunky volumes!

Reading Game of Thrones this weekend. About to jump on to do the first three chapters of The White Luck Warrior podcast then tonight going out with some friends.

Tomorrow hope to go to the local comic book shop and grab From Hell and some new tires for my road bike after our Eleventh Cycle discussion. Then on Sunday hopefully lots of nothing!

I am reading as much of The Wars of Light and Shadow by Janny Wurts as I can this weekend.

Also did a reddit search for fantasy authors with a literary feel and made a list  - some I've read and some I haven't.

One book that stood out to me was The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson. I've read this book and it didn't exactly stand out to me as having a literary feel but perhaps I missed things. Wondering if I should reread.

I am starting Game of Thrones as my next read in prep for the discussion next week! Hope to start it either tomorrow or at the latest on Monday. Today is a busy day, because it's my brother's 18th bday, so that means socializing... send help 😂
