Three books - The Windup Girl, Blindsight and Semiosis. Ah that’s a bummer! What are everyone’s plans for this weekend? Getting the monstrosity of a beard trimmed today. Then browsing new camera lenses. Tonight is the Friday Conversation with Tina Beier and Book Invasion. Tomorrow discussing the next Expanse book and Sunday the next volume of Berserk. 4 Jolien Reads, Ric, Drew and 1 other reacted to this Quote Steve IRL ► Personal Links: YouTube (booktube) ● OTBSteve YouTube (MTB and cycling) ● Strava ● Last.fm ● GoodReads ● Vero ◄
Paromita Mukherjee 1,659 Posted February 24 I am reading a book called Solenoid by Mircea Cartarescu, translated from the Romanian by Sean Cotter. Plan is to keep reading and hopefully finish the book. Next up is Septology by Jon Fosse. Also plan to catch a few livestreams. 3 Ric, Drew and Jolien Reads reacted to this
Jolien Reads 811 Posted February 24 Not a lot, since I now know for sure I'm going to visit Boston/New York, I'm going to plan the trip and make a list of stuff I want to do/visit for sure. If anyone has any tips that they want to share (never been to the US and never travelled a lot in general so I don't even know where to start) feel free to do so! I'm still sick so besides playing Zelda Breath of the Wild and reading (Priory of the Orange Tree) I don't think I'll do a lot 5 Ric, Stacyejaye, Paromita Mukherjee and 2 others reacted to this

Cheesecake at Dempseys in Manhattan, hot dogs at Nathan’s in Coney Island, try Chinatown and pizza in Mulberry Street, old Little Italy. I think I watch too many movies… 2 Paromita Mukherjee and Drew reacted to this

I grew up in California and currently live in Texas. One day I will make it there. My husband really wants to go to Niagara Falls it in New York State and you can cross into Canada to see it from that side. A_FROG_IN_TIME 898 Posted February 25 Spoiler Carabao cup final. Will watch that. Man Utd vs Newcastle Utd. Dog walking, writing and some general fixes and tidying around the house. As quiet one this weekend. 2 Drew and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this
A_FROG_IN_TIME 898 Posted February 25 In an unplanned moment of madness, I decided to tidy up the wiring in my office. Under the shelf and desk sorted. On top of the desk left. 3 Paromita Mukherjee, Drew and Steve reacted to this
A_FROG_IN_TIME 898 Posted February 25 Took 3 hours. 2 metres of truncking. One and a half vacuum cleaner batteries (dog hair), 6 cable ties, 3 cable ties subsequently removed and a cut on my finger. The cabling is now sorted. Three usb c charge cables with easy access for phone keyboard and mouse and usb c to the dock for laptop to connect to it all. Every plug has its own on off switch. Energy saving is my buzz word. I love messing around with shit like this. 3 Steve, Paromita Mukherjee and Drew reacted to this

Steve 7,527 Posted March 17 Woke up to snow falling today so I’m at work this Friday. Lots of streams this weekend for me, but all good stuff! Hope to record a short story and get some miles in on the peloton. Any fun plans this weekend? And happy St. Patrick’s day for those celebrating 🍀 3 Drew, Frank and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this Quote Steve IRL ► Personal Links: YouTube (booktube) ● OTBSteve YouTube (MTB and cycling) ● Strava ● Last.fm ● GoodReads ● Vero ◄
Paromita Mukherjee 1,659 Posted March 17 Planning to tune in to a couple of live streams and get more reading done. I am torn between rereading The Passenger and Stella Maris by Cormac McCarthy or something new from the International Booker longlist (which has been only disappointments so far). Will figure it out. Have a great weekend everyone! 3 Frank, Drew and Steve reacted to this

Any plans for today? Just finished Wyrd Gods. Thank you so much for the audiobook code. Sarah Kempton's narration made an excellent book even more enjoyable. Have a wonderful weekend. An Irish stout would be a great choice today (or any day), especially compared to green beer, though maybe not as transcendent as Ambrosia. Cheers. 🍻 3 1 Susana Imaginário, chrisM, Steve and 1 other reacted to this

I'll be working pretty much all weekend (freelancers don't have bank holidays ). I didn't even realise it was St. Patrick's Day until I took the puppy for a walk and saw that the pub down the road was packed (at 2pm on a Friday – unusual even for Irish standards 😂). I may drop by for a G&T later. So glad that you enjoyed Wyrd Gods. ☺️ Please don't forget to leave a review (just a rating is fine) and let me know if you'd like to listen to the rest of the story. 😉 Have a great weekend! 2 1 1 Paromita Mukherjee, Drew, chrisM and 1 other reacted to this
Amazing Worlds 387 Posted March 17 Weekend started yesterday as it’s a local bank holiday. Took the family for a couple of days away to the Hollywood studios n the south of Spain where all the 60s spaghetti westerns were filmed. Then it’s Father’s Day here on the 19th, so hopefully I’ll have time for my last serious run before the half marathon and a bit of a beer session on Sunday. Read through The Waiting comic and plowing on with Howling Dark. 4 Paromita Mukherjee, Steve, chrisM and 1 other reacted to this

Gin and tonics were my parent's drink of choice, probably why I exist. Actually it was more apt to have been a märzen (or two 😍). My parents met at Oktoberfest. I digress. I left reviews at Amazon, Goodreads, Storygraph, Book Bub and Page Chewing firstly, of course, the least I can do given your generosity and my enjoyment of the book. I definitely want to continue on listening to your series. Thanks again, @Susana Imaginário and cheers. 3 1 Steve, Ric, Paromita Mukherjee and 1 other reacted to this

If not, give me a shout if you fancy doing a low key buddy read in the next month or so (before I forget what happened in book 1 ). I have an audiobook and a Libby hold I need to read first, though. 2 Susana Imaginário and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this

I was practically in tears when I turned on the pc (tears of rage and not related to writing). A herd of bullocks broke into our garden earlier... the lawn is destroyed and so are most of the flower beds and a bit of wall. This isn't a tragedy in itself, but over half our income comes from renting part of the property to tourists... a beautiful garden is part of the attraction. A lot of work went into it... We spent the last couple of hours trying to keep the 15 bulls and 9 guests calm, while a neighbour went to find the owner. He did not even apologise, claiming that 'these things happen' FFS... 😡 Anyway, pardon the rant... I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you so much for reading my work and sharing the experience. Writing can be a punishing endeavour, It's good to know we're doing something right once in a while, that our work matters, especially on days like these... Thanks again and I hope you both enjoy The Dharkan as much, if not more, than Wyrd Gods (I had a lot of fun writing that one) 🙂 Have a great Sunday! 3 Ric, Paromita Mukherjee and Frank reacted to this
