Dolores Lima 130 Posted January 28 René Descartes wondered if we were living in a dream. He thought about this even before the Matrix came along. What are your thoughts on this? 4 chrisM, Steve, Erin and 1 other reacted to this
Steve 6,666 Posted March 14 The 5 Minute Universe is a terrifying thought. How do we know if we’re living in a dream or even a dream not of our own? Are we living in a dream that someone else is having? Or are we living another life and this is just a dream we are having of an alternate version of ourselves? 3 Dolores Lima, Ric and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this Quote Steve IRL ► Personal Links: YouTube (booktube) ● OTBSteve YouTube (MTB and cycling) ● Strava ● Last.fm ● GoodReads ● Vero ◄
Ric 218 Posted March 16 If I am living in somebody else's dream, then there's not much I can do about it, so I might as well just get on with things and make the best of it. If it's my dream, then I'm very disappointed with myself because I should have made my life way more exciting and interesting than it is. The idea that we might be living in a dream (or simulation) is a great topic for discussion or stories, but I think life is pretty much how we experience it. Then again, I sometimes have the thought that when I die there'll be a group of people shaking their heads in disappointment saying, "It took you 80 years to work out it was all a dream. World record of slowness. Did you not pick up on any of the clues?" 6 Frank, drpuffnstuff, Steve and 3 others reacted to this

The idea that people will shake their heads in disappointment that you didn't figure out what's really happening is also terrifying. 2 Varsha and drpuffnstuff reacted to this Quote Steve IRL ► Personal Links: YouTube (booktube) ● OTBSteve YouTube (MTB and cycling) ● Strava ● Last.fm ● GoodReads ● Vero ◄
