HaldaneBDoyle 32 Posted February 28 I just put up my first review/analysis video on youtube, covering Children of Time for the first episode. Still a bit rough on the production side, but that will improve with practice. Any thoughts?- https://youtu.be/QDSnUMq0DRg 5 Robyn bookends, Varsha, Drew and 2 others reacted to this

I’ve subscribed and bookmarked this video for watching after I read Children of Time! Regarding the rewrite, it was Spoiler very innovative but wayy too mean to the main characters! 😂 Also - jumping spiders for the win!
Mr_Selfy 110 Posted February 28 Great vid @HaldaneBDoyle! Another new channel that I've subbed to through this forum 😉 As someone who naturally fears the spider, I thought your commentary was great. Just with anything else, the more you do, the more you'll get comfortable with it all. Some recommendations for further critique/analysis: The Andromeda Strain Annihilation The Swarm 2 Steve and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this Quote Personal Links: YouTube Channel (Horrorable666) - Dystopian Novel: Birthday Treat - Horror Anthology: Cat Box and Other Strange Tales

I had the first two suggestions on my long list of books to get through that have a decent amount of biology in them (~130 now, which should keep me going for years), but The Swarm is new to me. Thanks for the recommendation! 1 Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this

Oh nice - I think I plan to get to Andromeda Strain soon-ish so I second that request I can't think of any other biological sci-fi I have read, but will come back here to post requests if I remember any/read any 1 Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this Quote ► ● Booktube ● Goodreads ● Twitter ● Email

Would you mind sharing the list you made? Most of my scifi reading has been limited to space operas and would love to explore a new subgenre that seems interesting to me (I ask at the expense of possibly adding 120 books to my to-read pile 😵💫) 1 Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this Quote ► ● Booktube ● Goodreads ● Twitter ● Email

I got the original list from a reddit post, but have refined/added a bit more to it. Some might be marginal for the amount of biology featured I still haven't found anyone else writing a world of purely biological technology, so my own books seem to unique in that regard. Always looking for ARC readers if you have time for a ~2hr/40 k word novella. Ric 500 Posted March 1 I enjoyed it. Your scientific explanation was clear and informative, and the whole thing is an interesting angle to take for a video series. The production looked good. It was interesting to hear how would have told the story and I appreciate how you've fronted up to provide your own narrative direction instead of jjust criticising aspects of the story. However, I might have renamed 'the fix' part to 'an alternative storyline' (or something similar) because 'fix' implies (to me) that there's something wrong with the story. No doubt he told the story he intended, balancing the science and narrative aspects to achieve the effect he desired. Anyway, I liked the book, but I agree that the spiders evolving along human lines was one of the negatives for me. He may have done it so that readers can relate to the spiders' evolution and appreciate the cleverness of how they'd develop similar tech in their own way. I enjoyed the spiders evolve-humans devolve aspect to the story, but found watching some of the spider evolution akin to watching a documentary because of the lack of personal connection to the characters (other than their names staying the same). Not a book, but I'd love to know what you make of the plausibility of the science in The Last of Us. Good luck with your channel. 3 Steve, Varsha and Paromita Mukherjee reacted to this

Renaming "The Fix" isn't a bad idea - I expect some people to consider reusing another authors premise to be disrespectful (but the history of story telling is all about adapting older ideas, no?). I am open to reviewing TV and movies in the future, even video games, anywhere that biology heavy sci fi exists. I'm watching "The Last of Us" at the moment, so that is a great suggestion. 2 Paromita Mukherjee and Steve reacted to this
